Herman C. Flemming
Herman C. Flemming, 88, a lifelong resident of the Germantown area passed away at The Kathy Hospice on Nov 6, 2007.
He was born in Rockfield, the son of Herman and Florence (nee Lambrecht) Flemming.
Herman is survived by his sons, Randall and Richard; a daughter-in-law, Mariann; and a granddaughter, Kate.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Dorene (nee Schwalbach), and a sister, Bessie (nee Harms).
After graduating from Menomonee Falls High School and Spencerion Business College, Herman entered the U.S. Army in 1942.
He was assigned to the 45th Division and as a sergeant he served his country in France, Italy, Sicily and Germany.
Herman was a member of the Edgar Zimmerman Legion Post in Germantown.
After the war, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service where he served the Germantown community for 34 years until his retirement.
He was active in the Land ‘O Lakes Baseball League both as a player and umpire.
His favorite hobby was golf.
There will be a private memorial graveside service for the family on Nov 17, at Our Saviours Church Cemetery in Dheinsville.
The Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services, Menomonee Falls, is assisting the family.
