Eva Milicewic, nee Merkl, of West Bend died on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 86 years.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1920 in the former Yugoslavia to the late Nikolaus and Anna (nee Noneschuster) Merkl.
On Jan. 17, 1938, she was united in marriage to Frank Milicewic. Frank preceded her in death in 1945.
On June 21, 1950, Eva came to the United States, settling in Chicago.
She was employed as a seamstress at Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. After retiring in 1976, she moved to West Bend, where she made her home. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church.
Survivors inlcude a step-sister-in-law Hermina Weber of West Bend; one niece, Ingrid (Frank) Nonn of Campbellsport; two great-nieces, Heidi (Jeff) Twohig of Campbellsport and Shelly (Ken) Cascio of Germantown; one great-nephew David (Kristine) Nonn of Port Washington; special friends Robert and Pam Milish and their son Adam of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two children and one brother, Joseph Merkl.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Pastor Carol Hansen officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 until 6:45 p.m. www.schmidtfuneralhome.-com.
