Jerome "Jerry" Rothenhoefer
Jerome "Jerry" Rothenhoefer, 76, of Richfield passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.
Jerry was born April 1, 1931 to Walter and Vera (nee Botsch) Rothenhoefer, and married Janet Leising on Sept. 11, 1954 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Jerry was a member of St. Mary’s of the Hill Parish and the Legion of Mary at St. Boniface.
He worked as a sheet metal worker for his entire career.
Jerry was a family man first and foremost. He loved his family and loved going to every sporting event his grandchildren were participating in. He was a great letter writer to anyone celebrating a special birthday or just a word of encouragement.
Jerry loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Notre Dame football.
He enjoyed collecting coins and watches, and also enjoyed fishing, telling stories about the good old days and helping out others who were not as fortunate as he was. They may have been homeless, down and out or blind.
He volunteered for the Badger Association of the Blind where he befriended many and they be-friended him because of his sincerity.
He was a generous man who would do anything for others.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jan; his children, Debbie (Kurt) Leonhardt, Karen (Tony) Muesch, Andy (Sandy) Rothen-hoefer, Peter Rothenhoefer, Linda (Scott) Becker, Mark (Mary Ellen) Rothenhoefer, Michael (Lori) Rothenhoefer, Mary (Steve) Nach-reiner, Tommy (Michelle) Rothen-hoefer and Chrissy Rothenhoefer; a son-in-law, John Becker; his grandchildren, Dustin, Kristin, Jennifer, Lindsay, Joseph, Laura, Matthew, Melissa, Bren-da, Noah, Bradley, Kyle, Craig, Andrea, Nicholas, Jason, Brandon, Michel-le, Zachary, Jacob, Emily, Madeline, Sarah Belle, Katie, Patrick, Mark, Casey, Christopher, Myranda, Trystan and Taylor; his great grandchildren, Joshua and Ayden; his sister, Carol Becker, and his and sister-in-law, Rita Rothenhoefer.
