Ronald J. "Ronnie" Schellinger

Ronald J. "Ronnie" Schellinger, 46, of the town of Herman passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007.

Ronnie was a gift given by God on Aug. 19, 1961 to his parents, Bernard and Charlene "Chip" (nee Lechner) Schel-linger.

His parents were entrusted with his care until he married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Anne Lieven on April 28, 1984 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.

Ronnie ran the family farm on Highway U in the town of Herman for eight years. He later worked for his brother, Ralph.

Ronnie’s favorite job was working for the city of Hartford as an equipment operator for 12 years.

He served on the town of Herman board for four years.

Ronnie loved to hunt and fish and have a good time with his family. He loved playing with and goofing around with his many nieces and nephews.

He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend.

Ronnie’s love for life and the outdoors surrounded him with many friends who will miss him dearly including his hunting and card club buddies, the city work crew, the kids from the Sunday morning breakfast crew, his more than 25-year Christmas couples gang, the Mardi Gras crew and his recently appointed position as president of the Stress Relief Meeting club.

Ronnie had many other special friends who he loved and you know who you are. He will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Anne; his three children, Benjamin "Bennie"(special friend, Jamie Lackas), Jes-sica "Sweetie" and Kelsey "Toot" Schellinger; his parents, Bernard and Chip Schellinger; seven brothers and sisters, Peter (Monica) Schellinger, Stephen (Jackie) Schellinger, Donna (Gary) Voigt, Ralph (Mary) Schel-linger, Jane (Dave) Fude, Paul (Kelly) Schellinger and Julie (Dennis) Regan; two brothers-in-law, Tom (Beverly) and Peter (Mary Pat) Lieven; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Bob) Christianson and Monica (Dale) Wunder; his godchildren, Maggie "Maggs" (special friend, Ross Braun) Voigt and Nick Barnes; his nieces and nephews, Adam (Hillary) Schellinger, Amanda (special friend Robert Land) Schellinger, Jared Schellinger, Josh-ua Voigt, Matthew (special friend Nikki Haag) Voigt, Joseph "Joey" Schellinger, Jonathan Fude, Daniel Fude, Michael Regan, Mitchell Regan, Nicole (Scott) Julius, Amanda Christianson, Emily Christianson, Molly Christian-son, Sam Lieven, Anne Lieven, Lauren Wunder, Jake Wunder, Mike (Julie) Lieven and Christ-opher (Laura) Lieven; great-nieces and great-nephews, Porter Voigt, Abby Julius, Ethan Julius and Kylie Lieven.

Ronnie is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Schel-linger; his grandparents, Art and Natalia (nee Schoebel) Schel-linger, and John and Julia (nee Hefter) Lechner; his in-laws, Donald and Lorraine (nee Reis) Lieven; and his godparents, John Lechner Jr. and Laverne Schel-linger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Highway 175, St. Lawrence, with Father. Joseph Dominic officiating.

Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., and on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the Mass.

Interment wil be in the town of Herman Cemetery.

Memorials to Ronnie’s children, Benjamin, Jessica and Kelsey are appreciated.
