Larry A. Johnson
Larry A. Johnson, 65 of West Bend died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007 at the William S. Middleton Veter-ans Memorial Hospital in Mid-dleton.
He was born July 11, 1942 in Norway, Mich. to Kenneth and Corrine (nee VanDamme) Johnson, and married Norene S. Juech on May 15, 1965 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.
Larry was raised in Norway, and at an early age his family moved to Stevens Point where he attended Pacelli Catholic High School and P.J. Jacobs High School.
He then went on to serve in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea before returning to the United States.
Following his discharge, Larry returned to Wisconsin, settling in West Bend.
After his marriage he worked at the Gehl Co. before returning to school to study tool and die. He then worked for ACD and Cole Tool and Die.
Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Norene; three children, Steve (Monica), Chris and Kim (Jake) Reiland, all of West Bend; four grandchildren, Josh DeMars, Brieann Johnson, Kirah Reiland and Trent Reiland; and his mother and stepfather, Corrine and William Carruthers of Jackson.
He is further survived by four siblings, Sharon Butch of West Bend, Tom (Robbie) of Middleton, Rick of Jackson and Laurie (Frank) Restifo of Brecksville, Ohio; a special aunt and uncle, Bob and Phyllis McCabe of Norway; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darwin (Pearl) Juech of West Bend, Cordell (Gerald) Enright of Kewaskum and Judy Juech of West Bend; a special friend and great hunting and fishing buddy, Gary Muth of West Bend; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ken; a brother, Bobby Joe in childhood; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Edna Johnson; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Edna VanDamme; his special grandma, Marie Carruthers; a special uncle, Orville VanDamme; and two brothers-in-law, Melroy Juech and Sheldon Juech in childhood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend, with Rev. Gerald Brittain presiding.
Burial will be Saturday at 11a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at the church only from 4:30 until 6:45 p.m.
