Mary Louise Packler
Mary Louise Packler, nee Fronczek, 90 of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she resided for the last 10 years.
Mary is survived by her sister, Rita Geske of Blue Bell, Pa.; five nieces and nephews, Carol Geske of Shelburne, Vt., Joan Pachuta of Waverly, N.Y., Michaelene Hackler of West Bend, Greg Geske of Blue Bell and Robert Geske of Birdsboro, Pa.; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy on April 10, 2001, and her brother-in-law, Robert Geske.
Mary was born June 21, 1917 in LaCrosse, the daughter of the late Joseph and Hedwig Louise (nee Bettin) Fronczek.
Mary studied X-ray technology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Later she was employed as an X-ray technician at Mount Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee, where she subsequently met her husband, attorney Roy Carl Packler.
Mary and Roy were married on Sept. 18, 1943 at St. Martin De Porres Church in Milwaukee. They continued to reside in Milwaukee, throughout their married life.
Some of Mary’s fondest memories were at their summer cottage ("Mudd Lake") swimming and sailing with her nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
Mary was the "Martha Stewart" of her time and frequently enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives. Their slide shows and adventures abroad were enjoyed by many.
Her artistic talent was reflected in her floral garden. Mary received first place award from the Wisconsin State Fair for one of her oil paintings, "Paris Nights."
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a period of visitation following the funeral services until 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee, following the visitation.
