James O. "Smokey," "Jimmer"
James O. "Smokey," "Jimmer" Pischke Jr., 64, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Kathy Hospice of West Bend.
James was born on Jan. 23, 1943 in Beaver Dam, the son of James O. and Lucille M. Pischke (nee Vujnovich).
He grew up in the city of West Bend, attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and West Bend High School, graduating in June of 1961.
He began working in January of 1961 at Gehl Co., where he worked on the loading dock. He retired in January of 2005 after working there for 43 years.
He was a member of the Holy Angels Y.P.C. and a 20-year member of the Unity Club of West Bend.
He touched many lives at the Unity Club and was involved with many different committees. He was involved in Alon on Wednesday nights. Thank you all.
James proudly served his country as a member of the Wisconsin National Guard for six years.
He is survived by his mother, Lucille Pischke; brothers, Robert Pischke, Patrick (Elaine) Pischke and Charles Pischke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. Eighth Ave., West Bend, with Father Rick Wendell officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from noon until the time of the Memorial Mass at 1 p.m.
Interment of ashes will take place at Holy Angels Cemetery following Mass.
Jim made a request that in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund be established with donations to the Unity Club, 1715 Creek Drive, West Bend, WI 53095.
The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
