Shirley Loether, 66, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at the Virginia Highlands in Germantown.
Shirley was born to Richard and Julia (nee Peckstein) Loether on Aug. 9, 1941 in Wauwatosa.
Shirley will always be remembered by those who loved her and whose lives she touched with her strength of spirit, her generosity, her thoughtfulness, her loving nature and her wacky sense of humor.
Shirley was a free spirit who unconditionally loved her family above all else.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Tracy) Rasmussen of West Bend, Kurt (Bonnie) Rasmussen of Campbellsport, Todd Rasmussen of Hartford and Jill Rasmussen (Mike Marks) of Hartford; nine grandchildren, Mark Jr., Jessie, Jessica, Dan, Ashley, Bryanne, Brody, Alivia and Sydney; her siblings, Joyce (Butch) Wetzel, Betty (Joe) Harrings, Ginny (Jim) Mullaly, Bonny (Ronny) Toman, Bob (Joy) Loether, Karleen (Denny) Wetzel, Gerrie (David) Wetzel and Mike Loether; and a sister-in-law, June Loether.
Shirley is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Julia Loether; a brother, Richard Jr.; and grandsons Zach Rasmussen, Bo Ryan and Nicholas.
Funeral services for Shirley will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 10700 W. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the cemetery only from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Interment will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
