Jane M. McElroy
Jane M. McElroy (nee Duffy) of West Bend passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at Samaritan Healthcare Center, after 85 years of life. Her husband, Warren, preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1974.
Jane was born and raised in Lacrosse, the daughter of William H. and Mayme (nee Garvin) Duffy. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee and then Marian College in Fond du Lac, where she earned her teaching degree.
Jane was a retired elementary school teacher at Holy Angels. For many years Jane enjoyed playing the piano at the West Bend Senior Center and at the Samaritan Healthcare Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Bill) Wallace of Wausaukee; her grandson, Warren (Eve) Wallace of Oconto Falls; a sister, Mildred Johnson of Wauwatosa; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Duffy of Lousiville, Kty.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her sister, Marion Barnett of Wauwatosa; and her brother, Frank Duffy of Louisville.
Following Jane’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend, followed by interment of ashes at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Allenton on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at 12:30 p.m.
A special thank you is extended to Dr. Nicole Klausmeier and her staff of nursing professionals for their outgoing care and compassion. Special recognition and thanks also goes out to Debbie and Jeff Gutjahr for always being there and offering their love and support to Jane.
