Ann C. Walish

A Mass of Christian burial for Ann C. Walish of Port Washington (formerly of Milwaukee and Grafton) was held on Sept. 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton.

Ann passed on to eternal life at the age of 102 on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007 in Port Washington. Father Steven Lampe celebrated the Mass. Visitation was held at the church and interment took place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg served the family.

Ann was born in Pulaski on Jan. 22, 1905, daughter of Marion and Catherine (nee Jankowski) Rasch.

In 1939, Ann married Edward Walish on Thanksgiving Day in Milwaukee.

Ann was an excellent cook. She loved to sew and truly loved to play cards, especially sheepshead. Ann was also a member of the Womenís Guild at Our Lady of Sorrows in Milwaukee. She lived in Milwaukee then moved to Grafton and later resided in Port Washington. Annís outgoing personality and the love for her family will truly be missed.

Ann is survived by her sons Thomas (Barbara) Walish of Cleveland and James (Linda) Walish of Monticello, Minn.; grandchildren Sandra (Richard) Sanders, Sharon (Joe) Volkmann, Susan Walish, Edward (Amy) Walish, Michael Walish, Brenda Lovejoy, Annette (Doug) Kasper, Rhonda (Patrick) Hawkins and Robbie (Kim) Lovejoy. She is further survived by 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Edward; sisters Vernie Beck, Helen Dobson, Laura Rasch, Martha Rasch and Sally Hartman; and brother Stanley Rasch.
