Richard Hamilton "Rich" Derrwaldt
Richard Hamilton "Rich" Derrwaldt, 77, was born on May 16, 1930 and died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 of complications of prostate cancer and leukemia.
He was the beloved husband and lifelong buddy of Sally (nee Schloemilch); the cherished father of Jeanne (John) Verthein of Brookfield, Ellen (Chris) Cella of Kirkland, Wash., Peter (Brook) Derrwaldt of Las Vegas, N.V. and Lisa Windorff and Andrew Derrwaldt, both of West Bend; the adoring grandfather of William, Richard and Michael Verthein, Byron and Jordan Derrwaldt, Katie and Nicole Cella, and Jessica, Rebecca and T.J. Windorff; dear great-grandfather of Anthony "Little Tony" Balistrieri; brother of the late Philip Derrwaldt; and a special brother-in-law of Karen (Thomas) Gracz, Paul Schloemilch and Mynn Lanphier.
He will be missed by his golf pals, Bob, Tony and Ray, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Richard spent his working life in the commercial and home building business as a longtime superintendent for MaCon Con-struction Co. and then operating his own company.
Rich enjoyed golf, gardening and making wine from his own grapes, but most of all he was devoted to his family.
He left the world a better place.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Mueller Funeral Home, W63 N527 Hanover Ave., Cedarburg, at 11 a.m.. on Friday, Sept. 21.
