Milo B. Sterr
Milo B. Sterr of Neosho passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford. He was 72 years old.
He was born March 11, 1935 in the town of Lebanon to Michael and Minnie (nee Hundt) Sterr. He married Elaine Sellinger on May 23, 1964 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford.
Milo took over the family dairy farm at the age of 14. He owned and operated Milo Sterr Trucking for 43 years.
He was a great supporter of local FFA’s, 4H’s and the county fairs meat and animal sales which promotes agricultures future. In his younger years he was widely know at local fireman’s picnics for his wrestling entertainment. Milo was a well known and respected man in his community. He touched the lives of hundreds of people over his lifetime. He will be deeply missed by all his many friends and family.
Milo is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elaine; his children, Jacklin (Daniel) Leischer of Lebanon and Penni (Thomas) Nickels of Watertown and Scott and Michael Sterr, both of Neosho; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Carissa Leischer, Kelsey and Ryan Wille, Dawson and Kylie Nickels; a sister, Elda Tietz of Watertown; his sister-in-law, Laverna Sterr of Oconomowoc; and his brothers-in-law, DuWayne Sellinger of Hartford, Norbert Fredrick of Oconomowoc and Roland Voigt of Ashippun. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy, Jeff; a daughter, Jane Wille; two brothers, Ervin and Melvin Sterr; and his sisters, Wolga Schreier, Clara Fredrick and Edna Voigt.
The funeral service was Tuesday, Sept, 25, 2007 at Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford, with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the SIDS Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Association or the charity of one’s choice appreciated.
Private inurnment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Neosho.
Shimon Funeral Home assisted the family.
