Adeline M. Burkhardt
Adeline M. Burkhardt (nee Ebert) of Cedarburg passed away peacefully in her sleep on Good Friday, March 21, 2008 at the age of 102, joining her husband Elmer P. Burkhardt to whom she was married for 62 years.
A private family memorial and burial were Adelineís wishes.
Mueller Funeral Home Cedarburg is serving the family.
Adeline was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 10, 1906, daughter of the late Otto and Mollie (nee Dickelman) Ebert.
She graduated from high school and completed Badger State Business before becoming a proud employee of the Milwaukee Journal and later of the Gimbels/Schusterís stores.
Adeline enjoyed many trips with her friends at the Cedarburg Senior Center and spending time at the Cedarburg Library.
She also enjoyed knitting items for the Senior Center Craft Fair and the Coats for Kids Project.
Adeline handcrafted many of her own clothes and provided her family with warm sweaters, scarves, mittens, baby clothes and beautiful afghans.
Adeline is survived by her daugher Nancy L. (Robert) Kohls of Newburg; her grandchildren Karen (Dan Erdmann) Kohls of Middleton, Kathryn (Stephen) Hansen of Cascade Locks, Ore. and Kenneth (Amy) Kohls of West Bend.
She is further survived by eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
