Ethel Amelia Crass

Ethel Amelia Crass, 91, of Phelps, died on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Eagle River Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 24, 1916 in the town of Farmington, the daughter of Albert and Eleanor (Groeschel) Pietschmann. She was raised and attended schools in Boltonville.

On June 1, 1934, Ethel married Carlos Crass. He passed away in 2005.

She was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend and a member of Pioneer Lake Lutheran Church in Con-over.

Ethel was a member of the Royal Neighbors for 76 years.

She enjoyed bingo and playing cards and was a volunteer at the senior center.

Her grandchildren always looked forward to her brownies and Christmas cookies.

Survivors include five sons, Randy Crass, Ralph (Louise) Crass, Jerry (Mary) Crass, Larry (Laurie) Crass and Ricky (Diane) Crass, all of West Bend; two daughters, Beverly (Peter) Ritger of Allenton and Barbara (Dennis) Laughrin of West Bend; two sisters, June Mueller of Fillmore and Marilyn (Jim) Brink of Missouri; three brothers-in-law, Ray Eichmann of Clintonville, Milton Schuster of West Bend and Henry Karth of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Florence Pietsch-mann; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Ruth (John) Abel of Eagle River; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Eichmann, Dorothy Schuster and Helen Karth; a brother, Albert Pietschmann and a brother-in-law, Donald Mueller.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Pioneer Lake Lutheran Church, Conover.

Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Memorial services will also be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to services.

The Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River, is handling the arrangements.
