Elizabeth "Betty" Carthaus Burbank

Elizabeth "Betty" Carthaus Burbank of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the age of 90.

Betty’s many friends are invited to celebrate and honor her life at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. The family will welcome friends and share memories at a church reception following the service.

Betty was a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She worked as a lab technician for many years of her life.

She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed reading and cooking and was a member of the Cedarburg Woman’s Club. She loved animals and was especially fond of dogs.

Betty’s family is so blessed to have had her in their lives. Betty cherished her time with friends and family.

The support and encouragement of her wonderful friends and family meant so much to her. She was a uniquely kind and generous person.

Betty is survived by her loving family; her husband John; and her daughters Anne (Steven) Tews of Mequon and Nancy Burbank of Eu-gene, Ore. Betty was the dear grandmother of Jennifer, Sarah and Peter; and the proud great-grandmother of Ben, Zoe and Ryan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, the Cedarburg Public Library or the Ozaukee Humane Society are appreciated.
