Harold D. Krause

Harold D. Krause of Slinger was born into the eternal gates on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Cedar Community, at the dear age of 84.

He was born into the loving arms of Andrew and Mary (nee Gundrum) Krause on Nov. 24, 1923 in Milwaukee.

Harold was raised in Milwaukee attending and graduating from Boy’s Tech High School. He entered into the United States Marine Corps at the age of 21; he proudly served as a member of the 1st Marine Division in Oki-nawa and the China occupation.

On May 28, 1949, Harold married the love of his life, Shirley (nee Klever) in Milwaukee, together raising six wonderful children.

For the majority of his working career Harold worked as a police officer in River Hills, ob-taining the rank of detective; later becoming a volunteer fire fighter. Among his favorite things were the Dodgers, collecting baseball cards and his baseball hat collection.

Survivors include six children, Yvonne (Rich-ard) Behling of Fredonia, Diana (James) Prahl of Germantown, Dale (Shar-on) of Boltonville, Scott (Cindy) of Watertown, Andy (Gayle) of Min-nesota and Paul of Thiensville; 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis of Theresa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

A funeral service in memory of Harold will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend with Father Robert Bales officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon.

A private burial will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

Memorials are appreciated to the family, donations will be given to charities of Harold’s choice.
