H. Kathryn "Kate" Reiss
H. Kathryn "Kate" Reiss, nee Bryngelson, 81, of Hartland was born to eternal life on April 11, 2008.
She was the wife of the late Donald F. for 54 years; dear mother of Jon (Pam), David, Jodi (Paul) Zelinger and Douglas (Jackie); proud granny of Todd, Jason (Dena), Kelli, Rachel, Sarah, Tim, Andy and Bill; and proud great-granny of Ajay Reiss.
She is further survived by sisters, Barbara Moore of Car-michael, Calif. and Beverly Smith of Grawn, Mich.
Kate was born and raised in Galesburg, Ill. She came to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin, graduating in 1949. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and many other activity groups.
Kate taught at the State School for Girls until moving to Wauwatosa in 1954. She taught in the Wauwatosa schools until retiring in 1976.
She was active in a special group called Sit and Sew; was a member of the Society of Decorative Painters (Turp ‘N Stein), teaching and participating in seminars; was a founder and member of the Nagawaukee Senior Nags Golf Association; an active member of Lake Country Carvers and an active member of Church of the Resurrection.
Visitation at the Church of the Resurrection, (Highway KE), W287 N3700 North Shore Drive, Pewaukee,will be held on Friday, April 18, from 5 to 6:45 p.m., followed by a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the family for distribution to special groups Kate was involved with, or to Church of the Resurrection.
