Harry L. Knoelke

Harry L. Knoelke, 80, formerly of Campbellsport, went to his heavenly home with his family at his side on Tuesday April 29, 2008 at Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fond du Lac.

He was born in Milwaukee on March 5, 1928, the son of the late Gustave and Augusta (Albrecht) Knoelke, and on July 1, 1950 he married Lorraine Schlender in North Prairie.

He served in Korea with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Harry worked in the construction business in the Campbells-port area for Joe Zahn and Son and at the recycling center for the town of Auburn.

He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee and he served as town of Auburn chairman for a number of years.

Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie (Joseph) Zahn of Campbellsport; his grandchildren, Michael, Traci, Lisa and Stephany; his sister, Marion Tolonen of Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Lorraine and his son, Barry.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 3, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Dundee, W494 Elm St. Campbells-port.

Rev. Richard Schliewe will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from noon until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Trinity Lutheran Church, Waucousta Lutheran Grade School or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family.


The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Pastor Schliewe, the doctors, nurses, aides and the members of the Fond du Lac Police Department and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department for their kindness and concern shown to Harry during his final years.
