Christine "Chris" Becker (Thom) of Hartford went home with her precious Lord, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at the age of 49 years.

Colorectal cancer challenged Chris’ life since April of 2006.

Chris was born on June 26, 1959, in Hartford to Harry and Jeannette (Pfalz).

She lived all of her life in Hartford, attending Lincoln Elementary and graduating from Hartford Union High School.

During high school she worked at Campbell’s clothing store. After graduation, she worked at Hartcraft. Chris was most recently employed at the Hartford Union High School as a custodian.

She enjoyed participating in her children’s scout groups, and sports activities. She provided loving care for her children, nieces and nephews.

Chris enjoyed crafting, suduko games, jigsaw puzzles, camping, watching movies and the Green Bay Packer games, and motorcycle riding.

She loved spending time with her family and very special friend Gary.

Chris was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and then St. Kilian Catholic Church where she enjoyed sharing the blessed message of Jesus teaching Sunday school.

Chris is survived by her children, Amanda Becker of Milwaukee, Sheila, Brandon and Tricia Becker all of Hartford; her special friend, Gary Dietenberger of Hartford; her parents, Harry and Jeannette (Pfalz) Thom of Neshkoro; her sisters, Debbie (Greg) Hartwig of Neshkoro, Candace (Steve) Svien of Hartford, and Denise (Jim) Bricco of Hustisford; nieces and nephews, Jacob and Brady Hartwig, Stephanie, Rebecca, and Samantha Kuehl, Emily Svien, Eric and Jordon Bricco. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grand parents and godparents.

Funeral services for Chris will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
