Bernard A. Gehl, 92
Bernard A. Gehl of Montana, formerly of
West Bend, died on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at St. Peter’s Hospital in
Helena, Mont. at the age of 92.
He was born on May 4, 1916, in West Bend to
the late Henry M. and Caroline Gehl.
Throughout his life, Bernard’s Catholic faith was most important to him.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and
trapshooting, for which he is a past Montana State Trapshooting Champion.
He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the
Montana Trapshooting Association and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include seven children: Henry W. (Jenny) of East Helena, Mont.,
Bernard L. of Plant City, Fla., Thomas (Joleen) of Seattle, Wash., Russell
(Barbara) of Toponas, Colo., Patricia (Clancy) Jenson of Des Moines, Iowa,
Jerry of Minden, Neb. and Kathy (Gary) Howard of Des Moines; 10
grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at
Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Brittain presiding.
Burial of the cremated remains will be in Holy Angels Cemetery.
The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
