Laverne M. Remich, 91

Laverne M. Remich (Reul) of West Bend died on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at the Clearview South Long Term Health and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau at the age of 91.

She was born on Jan. 4, 1917, at the family homestead in the town of Farmington to the late Edward and Amanda (Klahn) Reul.

Following her marriage to Leroy N. Remich on Sept. 5, 1936, in Milwaukee, the couple lived in Milwaukee until moving to a farm near Big Cedar Lake in 1939.

In 1941, the family moved to a farm in the town of Jackson.

For more than 25 years, Laverne worked on the assembly line at the former Power Products in Grafton, retiring in 1979.

Leroy predeceased Sept. 5, 1976.

Survivors include three sons, Robert, Curtis (Lori) and Vernon, all of West Bend; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Donath of Kewaskum, Doris (Adrin) Krahn of Beechwood and Jean (Al) Ripley of Adell; one brother, Edward (Eileen) Reul of West Bend; one sister-in-law, Betty Reul of Random Lake; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez (Vernon) Staege and Bernice Kastner; and two brothers, Marvin and Howard.

In following with Laverne’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.

Those who wish may give memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Laverne.
