Raising chickens, bowling, needlework and bus driving were all important parts of Gertie’s life. Lester and Gertie also enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. Her family really appreciated her famous duck dinners, homemade bread and special Christmas dinners.
Gertie is survived by her loving children, Karen (Jim) Meinert, Edward, (Leila) Behrens and Susan Langworthy. She is further survived by nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Gertie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester Behrens; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family extends a warm thank you to Lasata Care Center and Family Tree’s Hamburg Home for the kindness and care they gave to Gertie. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated. For online condolences, visit www.muellerfuneralhome.com.
