Dad could fix anything. From making his own boat, train sets and home repairs, he made every effort to do things right the first time. When he wasn’t working, he taught his family a love for the outdoors. Fishing, swimming, camping and boating were favorite pastimes. His sons will never forget the week long trips to Anvil Lake.
The entire family will miss all the things Bruce did to make others feel at home, whether is was manning the grill in summer or playing Santa on Christmas. His grandchildren will remember his laughter, loving spirit, and joy in his face as he watched and listened to them open gifts. None will forget a man who would slip the children a piece of chocolate from his shirt pocket when the church service was just too long.
Survivors incude three sons, Tim (Jane) of Baraboo, Larry of Fond du Lac and Don of West Bend; one grandson, Lyle; three step-grandchildren, Molly (Jeremy) Chamberlain, Anna (Chris) Jones and Jeffrey Bartlett; two step-great-granddaughters, Olivia and Audrey Jones; two brother,s Dean (Sharon) of Hancock and Paul (Heidi) of New Berlin; his step-mother, Irene Weeks of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Janie (Jack) Shubert of Hearney, Neb. and Barbara Bryant of Menomonee Falls; one brother-in-law, John (Sue) Bryant of Hartford; other relatives and friends.
