Roy A. Pedersen, 84

Roy A. Pedersen of Juneau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at the age of 84.

He was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Adams, the son of Hans C. and Hilda A. (Olson) Pedersen.

He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School.

Roy married Beryl D. Stone on June 9, 1949, at the Methodist Church in Randolph.

He enjoyed gardening.

He enjoyed being an amateur ham radio operator and managed "The Nine Area" for the American Radio Relay League for over 12 years. Roy’s call number was K9FHI. He was a member of the Rock River Radio Club and the Quarter Century Wireless Association. Roy belonged to the Badger weathernet, the noon net, the 5:30 net and the slow speed net. He worked as an electrician, beginning with the Dairyland Co-op, and retired after 41 years from Sensient Flavors.

Roy was a member of the Juneau United Methodist Church and its men’s club.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Norman in 1999; his brothersin-law, Kenneth Henriksen in 1990, Garland Chaffee in 1989 and Frank Williams in 1996; and his nephews, Dennis Henriksen in 1983, Richard Pedersen in 2004 and Randall Williams in 2005.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beryl (Stone) of Juneau; his sons, Gary of Pewaukee and Michael of Horicon; his special family friend, Wayne Kikkert of Horicon; his brother, Alden (Judy) Pedersen of Fond du Lac; his sisters, Caroline Henriksen of Arkdale, Viola (Clarence) York of Arkdale, Virginia Chaffee of Arkdale, Esther (Fred) Stevens of Arkdale, Gladys (Clinton) McKinley of Friendship, Myrtle (Helmer) Lecy of Arkdale, Verna Williams of Adams and Florence (Edward) Koehler of Friendship. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation is Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home-Juneau. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. The Rev. Gerhardt Miller will officiate. Interment at the Juneau City Cemetery. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home-Juneau is serving the family,
