Kenneth R. Bauer, 83
Kenneth R. Bauer, 83, of Lomira (LeRoy), died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
He was born July 26, 1925, to Alois and Ottilia (Feucht) Bauer in LeRoy.
He married Alice M. Krapfl on Sept. 27, 1947, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy.
He is survived by his children, James (Renee) Bauer of LeRoy, Kathleen "Kitty" (Steve) Klein of West Bend, Diane (Mike) Vollmer of Mayville, Kris (John) Butzlaff of Campbellsport, Douglas "Duff" (Elizabeth) Bauer of Longmount, Colo., Mark "Kino" Bauer of Oakfield, Greg (Kelly) Bauer of Lomira, Heidi (Ross) Rebernick of Mukwonago; sister, Nellie Wagner of West Bend; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ida; daughter, Debra in 1991; two grandsons, Tony and Greg Vollmer in 2003; sister, Sylvia; two brothers, Clement and Jerome.
Kenneth retired from Maysteel Corp. after 41 years with the company.
He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy, active with the St. Andrew Fall Festival, summer picnics and funeral lunches.
Kenneth was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marines. He was a member of the Lomira American Legion Post 347.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy, with Fr. Tom Biersack and Fr. Robert Berghammer officiating.
Burial will be at the St. Andrew Cemetery, LeRoy, with graveside military rites conducted by the Lomira American Legion Post 347.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy.
