Rachael F. Dunlap

Rachael F. Dunlap (nee Baltz) of Cedarburg passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at her residence, at the age of 85. A memorial service for Rachael will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Vineyard Community Church (1597 County Road V) in Grafton. The Rev. Pat Mulcahy will officiate at the service. Visitation will be held at the church only, on Friday, Dec. 12, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery in Chilton. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Rachael was born on Sept. 13, 1923 in Chilton, the daughter of Henry and Lydia (nŽe Achenbach) Baltz. She graduated from Chilton High School, class of 1941, and then attended and graduated from St. Agnes School for Nurses in Fond du Lac, in 1944. After graduation, Rachael moved to Milwaukee. She began her nursing career working in the ER at Columbia Hospital where she met her future husband, George A. Dunlap. On Aug. 9, 1946, Rachael and George were married and they lived in Whitefish Bay while raising their family. Rachael loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved miniature dollhouses and her pets over the years. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Whitefish Bay and her 1220 Club.

Rachael is survived by her children, Thomas (Katie) Dunlap, Richard Dunlap, Barbara "Sarah" (Dan) Carney and Debra (Mark) Goelz. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; special friends, Marion Hercules, Bonnie Hoculi and Isabelle Johnson; other relatives and friends. Rachael was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, George.
