Robert Zellmer, 67
Robert "Bob" Zellmer, 67, of Montello, died on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, after a long, courageous battle with prostate and bone cancer.
Bob was born on Aug. 4, 1941, the son of William J. and Josephine (Slobosheki) Zellmer.
He graduated from Montello High School in 1959, subsequently settling in West Bend to work. He worked in construction and later worked for Sentry Foods in West Bend, Menomonee Falls and Beaver Dam.
While in West Bend, he met the love of his life, Diane Duernberger, and they were married Sept. 1, 1962. They were blessed with two children, Nadine (Jim Espeseth) of Madison and William "Will" of Montello.
Bob went on to Peoria Barber College and received his masterís in barbering in Montello, where he purchased his own barber shop. Bob was a barber for over 35 years.
During his life he accomplished many things that he set out to do. He even farmed, later developing Zellmer Subdivision.
Bob loved to purchase houses, fix them up, rent them out and then sell them. He went on to build on a larger scale, with some of his handiwork still in use today.
Bob was never one to sit still. He was always on the go, getting the most out of every breath he took. One of the things Bob said, prior to his death, was that he accomplished everything that he had set out to do, and we feel that sums up his life story eloquently.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane; his son, Will; daughter, Nadine (Jim); and Nadineís four children, Tony, Remy, Sommer and Elijah; a sister, Grace Kusick of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Claude Duernberger (Pat) of West Bend; an aunt, Lucille Sheski of West Bend; and many nieces, nephews, and more relatives and friends.
Bob has been cremated and there will be a Mass and inurnment in the spring.
Bob was serious on education and any memorials can be sent to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for the School Fund, 1211 West Main St., Princeton, WI 54968, or the Budda-Box of Marquette County.
Crawford Funeral Home of Montello is assisting the family.
