George P. Minz

George P. Minz of the town of Trenton died on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at his residence at the age of 74 years. He was born on Sept. 15, 1934 in West Bend to the late Hugo and Marie (nee Bohn) Minz.

After graduating from Holy Angels Grade School and West Bend High School, he attended Marquette University. He earned his B.S. in business, then started Minz Building Systems, which he owned and operated up to the time of his death.

Survivors include a close friend, Mary Gundrum of the town of Trenton; six children, Mark (Lori) of Grafton, René (Robert Brasted) of Eugene, Ore., Sara (Steve) Smith of Burlington, John (Elizabeth) of West Bend, Paul (Brenda) of Waukesha and Jim (Sondi Mahoney) of Princeton, N.J.; 12 grandchildren, Ian and Cara Brasted, Matthew Smith, Catherine, Rebecca, Hannah and Megan Minz, Sophie, Josie and Chrissy Minz and Rachel and Cora Mahoney; three sisters and one brother, Carol (Ken) Weddig of Kewaskum, Tom (Barb) of Campbellsport, Kay (Tim Flatt) of Takoma Park, Md. and Jean (Bruce Kippenhan) of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian burial at 2 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
