Barbara A. "Barbie" Schneider (Koehn), 66, of West Bend, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, peacefully surrounded by the things she loved and her family.
Barbara was born on Jan. 7, 1942, to Roy and Catherine (Orth) Koehn in Milwaukee. She married Donald Schneider on Nov. 28, 1959 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend. They raised their family in the West Bend area.
She loved yard work, gardening and especially doing activities with her grandchildren. She was also an avid animal lover. Barbie was a member of Myranettes Homemakers.
Barbie is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Donald; daughters, Cindy (Randy) Biermann of West Bend, Lori (special friend Dan Sircel) Schneider of Sheboygan, Tina (Duane) Jaeger of Cleveland, Wis.; and son, Scott (fiancˇ Diane Lane) of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by her dear grandchildren, Nicholas and Jeffery Biermann, Bradley and Brittany Jaeger, Andrea, Alissa, Rebekah and Denaea Schneider; sisters, Arlene (Bruce) Vogel of Pardeeville and Phyllis (Dick) Greiveldinger of Port Washington; father-in-law, Charles Schneider of West Bend; cousins; in-laws; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Marie Schneider; brother-in-law, Douglas Schneider; and sister-in-law, Paulett Schneider.
A memorial Mass for Barbie will be on Friday, Dec. 26, at 5 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini, 1025 S. Seventh Ave. with Father Jeffrey Haines officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Friday, from 3 p.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts can be given to Ovarian Cancer Research in Barbara's name.
