Melva V. Labisky

Melva V. Labisky, (nee Zimmel) 91, of West Bend passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at SynergyHealth St. Josephís Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1916 on the family homestead farm in the town of Wayne, to the late Alfred and Ella (nee Justman) Zimmel.

Melva at-tended St. Johnís Chris-tian Day School and later graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1935. She then started working as a stenographer at the First National Bank and later at the West Bend Co. until her marriage.

On Feb. 19, 1941 Melva was united in marriage to Edmund "Bud" Labisky at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Melva had been an active member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Johnís Guild, Guild Choir, and Guild Bridge Club. She was a former member of the West Bend Country Club and the West Bend Womenís Club.

She was the Vice President of her husband Budís company, West Bend Screw Machine Co., and after Budís death in 1984, Melva became president of the company.

She is survived by three daughters, Kay (James) Bolick of Bellvue, Colo., Lynn Meyer of Gainesville, Fla., and Jane (Dale) Reilley of Singer Island, Fla.; six grandchildren, Aaron and Jen-nifer Bolick, Sarah and Andrew Nowicki, Patrick and Michael Reilley; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Kocker and Verna Koch; along with a brother, Webster "Webby" Zimmel.

Funeral services to remember Melva will be held on Monday, February 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church (809 S. Sixth Ave.). Rev. George Mumm will officiate.

Visitation will be Monday at the church only from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Washington County Me-morial Park.
