Raymond C. "Ray" Margelowsky
Raymond C. "Ray" Margelowsky, 77, of Hartford, passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008.
Ray was born on May 2, 1930 in Rubicon, the son of Gustave and Elizabeth (Buhrow) Margelowsky, and married Shirley Buege on April 19, 1953 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Ixonia.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford.
Ray worked for Libby’s canning factory for over 34 years as a field mechanic.
One of the greatest loves of his life was to help his son, Eric with the Percheron horses. He loved being in the parades with the horses.
Another love was to repair Elec-Trac lawn tractors with his brother-in-law, Chuck.
He loved tinkering in the garage, playing cards, polka dancing, driving the farm tractor and going to his grandson’s concerts.
The greatest joy he had was spending time with his family.
Ray is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Laura (Dave) Kraus of Neenah and Kathryn Margelowsky of Hart-ford; two sons, Michael (Peggy) Margelowsky of Grand Marsh and Eric (Diane) Margelowsky of Hartford; 11 grandchildren, Nick, Adam, Daniel, Jason, Clayton (Tara), Aaron, Amber, Casey, Natasha (fiance Dan), Meghan and Ethan; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Ryder; a sister, Delores (Charles) Skinner, of Hartford; a brother-in-law, Paul (Joanne) Buege, of Watertown; and a sister-in-law, Paula (Glen) Bock of Watertown.
He is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Wilbur (Mary Ann), Elmer and Ervin; and his sister, Adeline.
Funeral services for Ray will be on Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Hart-ford, with Rev. Jon Munson officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church only from 3 to 7 p.m.
Internment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
The family requests that memorials be given to Peace Lutheran Church or the Perch-eron Horse Association.
