Norma J. Zimmerly

Norma J. Zimmerly of Mequon joined her beloved husband Robert A. Zimmerly (who preceded her in death on Jan. 10) on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at the age of 70.

Funeral services will be held for Norma at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 12, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10280 North Port Washington Road (one block south of Donges Bay Road) in Mequon.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

Norma was born in Milwaukee on April 17, 1937, the daughter of the late Elmer and Rachel (nee Ramseur) Stensen.

She graduated from Custer High School in 1955.

After 26 years of dedicated and proud service she retired from Wisconsin Color Press.

Norma was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing for church services.

Norma loved to go up north where she spent many years boating, fishing, floating on the water and watching wildlife.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Norma was devoted to her husband and children, putting them above all else. She truly cherished them and all her close friendships.

Norma is survived by her children Michael (Lauren) Zimmerly of Pewaukee, Cheryl (Dennis) Donohue of Janesville and David (Margaret) Zimmerly of Pewaukee; and her six grandchildren Caitlin, Michaela, Robert, Bailey, Jordan and Paige. She is further survived by many other loving relatives and dear friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her dog Sunny.

Memorials in Norma's name may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville, the American Cancer Society or the Golden Retriever Rescue Fund.
