Ralph F. Mommaerts

Ralph F. Mommaerts, 93, of West Bend, passed away Saturday Feb. 9, 2008 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 2, 1914 in Green Bay to the late Philip and Elizabeth (nee VanDenPlas) Mommaerts. At an early age Ralph moved with his family to Kenosha.

He graduated from Kenosha High School in 1932. Ralph then attended Marquette University and graduated in 1936 with a degree in accounting.

In 1936 Ralph started working in accounting and auditing for General Electric in Schenectady, N.Y.

It was in Schenectady that he met his future bride, Jeanne Kupfer, whom he married on Sept. 26, 1936.

He was employed at General Electric for 41 years until his retirement in 1977.

From 1954 until 2003 Ralph made his home in Norwalk, Conn. In 2003 he moved back to Wisconsin and made his home at Cedar Ridge in West Bend.

Ralph is survived by seven nieces, Nancy (Robert) Boylan of West Bend, Carol (Glenn) Young of Greendale, Shirley Moehrke of Vacaville, Calif., Janet Davis of San Anselmo, Calif., Gayle (David) Elsbeond of Salem, Ore., Janine (Loren) Soper of Jeffer-son, Ore. and Fay Davis of Fram-ingham, Mass.; five nephews, John (Cheryl) Kupfer of Wau-watosa, W. Howard (Joan) Moehr-ke of Naja, Calif., Lawrence Moehrke of San Rafael, Calif., Richard Moehrke of Sacramento, Calif. and James (Deb) Moehrke of Vacaville; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; one daughter; and one son, William.

In honoring Ralph’s request, there will be no formal funeral service or visitation.

His cremated remains will be interred in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Memorials in Ralph’s name may given to Partners In Caring at Cedar Ridge.
