Peter P. "Kojak" Cappozzo
Peter P. "Kojak" Cappozzo, 77, of Eden, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Fond du Lac on Nov. 20, 1930, the son of Peter and Giovanna Farina Cap-pozzo, and on July 28, 1951 he married Dorene Kryzyanowski at Im-manuel-Trinity Lutheran Church.
He worked for Friday Canning Factory for 44 years, retiring as plant manager.
Peter was an active member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church.
He was a charter member of the Eden Lions Club, serving as president and zone chairman receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow Award; a charter member of the Eden Rod and Gun Club; and served as president of the Eden Ruff Riders.
Peter served as a trustee of the Eden Village Board and was a member of the Eden Fire Department.
He was also a member of the Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270, Eden Fishing Club and the Empire Thrashing Association.
Peter enjoyed tending bar and playing cards at the Out Post Bar in Eden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorene; his six loving children, Cathy (Greg) Schwarz of New Holstein, Peter (Diane) Cappozzo of Eden, Mary Jo (Pete) Abhold of Armstrong, Ronald (Karen) Cappozzo of Fond du Lac, Tina (Randy) Fell of Campbellsport and Anthony (Kristin) Cappozzo of the town of Wayne; his loving grandchildren, Pamela Koeh-ler, Greg (Bucky) and Steven Schwarz, Peter, Daniel and Betsy Cap-pozzo, Katie and Dillon Abhold, Jenny and Jes-sica Roehl, Amanda, Josh and Stephanie Fell, Brandon Susen, Kaeden and Alec Cappozzo; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Madalynn and Myles Reed and Zachary Koehler.
Peter is further survived by four sisters, Rosie (Harold) Kreif of Campbellsport, Dora (John) Uelmen of Arkansas; Erma Gantner of of Eden and Gloria (Nick) Romalia of Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; and friends.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, and great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Wednes-day, Feb. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home Fond du Lac.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church-Family Life Center, 20 Wisconsin American Drive.
Pastor Shari Routh will officiate and entombment will follow in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services at the Family Life Center.
