Clarence "Sparky" Krahn
Clarence "Sparky" Krahn, 87, of Mayville (town of Herman), died on Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital, Wauwatosa.
He was born May 27, 1920 in the town of Herman, Dodge County, to John and Ida (nee Gunst) Krahn, and married LaVerne Luedtke on Aug. 18, 1945 at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman.
Clarence farmed in the town of Herman and was also a janitor and bus driver for Herman Consolidated School.
He was a member of Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman, an honorary member of the Iron Ridge Fire Department, a town of Herman supervisor and a lifelong musician.
Survivors include his loving wife, LaVerne of 62 years; three children, Joyce (Richard) Moldenhauer of Hartford, Gloria (Allen) Christian of Mayville and Gerald (Pam) Krahn of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Keith (Louisa) Moldenhauer, Mark (fiancee Shannon Mayer) Moldenhauer, Kevin Moldenhauer, Melis-sa (Jessie) Decker, Dustin Christian, Robert Krahn and Whitney Krahn; six great-grandchildren, Molly, Nicholas, Ethan, Jayden, Mason and Megan; a sister, Lorraine Enderle of Mayville; in-laws, Verna (Tom) Hartwig of Mayville, Lloyd (Sue) Luedtke of Winchester, Floyd (Gloria) Luedtke of Shawano and Inez Pilsner of Mayville.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers-in-law, Harvey Luedtke, Howard Pilsner and Wilber Enderle.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. from Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman.
Rev. Kenneth Bittorf will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and also on Friday at the church from noon until 2 p.m.
