Robert Joseph Garczynski

Robert Joseph Garczynski, 83, died on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at his home in Beaver Dam.

He was born on March 6, 1924 in Beaver Dam, to the late John and Lucy (Waudrich) Garczynski.

He served in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran.

Robert was awarded the Purple Heart and an Oak Leaf Cluster for injuries he had sustained in the Battle of the Bulge.

On Nov. 27, 1948, he was united in marriage with Marcella M. Schwinn at Holy Trinity Church in Newburg.

Robert worked at MetalFab for 38 years, retiring in 1986.

He was a sports fan for all of the Wisconsin teams and most importantly, was a wonderful father and grandfather.

Robert was a past member of St. Michaelís Catholic Church, where he was an usher, and was currently a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.

Robert is survived by two sons, Gary (Doris) Garczynski of Cottage Grove, and Bruce (Joyce) Garczynski of Kewaskum; a granddaughter, Heather Garczyn-ski of Kewaskum; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, David (Rosie) Garczynski and John Garczynski, both of Beaver Dam; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcella on Nov. 5, 2003; a sister; and nine brothers.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam, from 9 until 11 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation, with Father. John Schreiter officiating.

Burial will be at St. Michaelís Cemetery, town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County.

The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family.
