Henry "Hank" C. Zganjar

Henry "Hank" C. Zganjar of Mequon passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 at the age of 87. Friends may greet the family this evening, Feb. 28, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10280 North Port Washington Road in Mequon, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Hank at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning, Feb. 29, at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 138 West Buntrock Ave. in Thiensville. Visitation will also be held on Friday at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., prior to the Mass. Entombment will be private. Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home served the family.

Hank was the owner of Hank’s Standard Service in Milwaukee for over 30 years. He was an Eagle Scout and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II. Hank was a life member of the North Milwaukee Lions Club and a member of the American Legion Howard J. Schroeder Post 457. Hank enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer.

Hank was the beloved husband and best friend for over 59 years of Janet E. (nee Griese) Zganjar; the loving father of Karen Ellenbecker (Robert Stoltz), Dr. Kenneth (Evie) Zganjar, Linda (Atty. Robert) Koch and Cindy McDowell (Roy Hubler); the proud and loving grandfather of John, Julie (Tom), Jeffrey (Stephanie), Andrew, Katie, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Christy (Gene), Kristin and Kessia. Hank was the great-grandfather of 10 great-grandchildren; the brother of Frances Godec, Edward Zganjar and Marjorie Johnson; and the brother-in-law of Richard (Lori) Griese. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
