Denis S. Vogt
Denis S. Vogt of the town of Wayne went home to the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at the age of 83. Denis was born to Nicholas and Helena (nee Jansen) Vogt on Oct. 9, 1924 in West Bend.
Denis was raised on his family's farm, where he helped operate "Oak Lawn Dairy." He attended and graduated from West Bend High School, class of 1942. Denis was the loving husband and dear friend to his wife Marian (nee Weninger) of 57 years. They were united in marriage on Oct. 7, 1950 at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Nabob. Together they operated a family dairy farm and raised a loving family of nine children. Denis also was a successful salesman, working for various seed companies for over 40 years. He valued the friendship of his many customers and received various awards for his accomplishments. At the time of his death, he was a Territory Sales Manager with Midwest Seed Genetics.
First and foremost, Denis enjoyed his family and many grandchildren. His interests included farming, card playing, and socializing with friends, including those at the Hartford Senior Center.
Denis is survived by his loving wife, Marian and his dear children: Barbara Steger (special friend Randy Schoenoff), David (Rose) Vogt, Joel (Joyce) Vogt, Linda Beisbier, Ralph (Lea) Vogt, Mary Kay (Gary) Klink, Caroline (Steve) Beine, and Kenneth (Jaquelyn) Vogt. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Kathy Vogt.
He is further survived by the following treasured grandchildren: Katie and Kristin Vogt, Nicole, Sarah, & Michelle Beisbier (special friend Matthew Stephan), Angela (Joe) Germano, Holly, Jamie, and Matthew Vogt, Eric, Beth, Lauren, & Alex Vogt, Jenna, Bruce, Jodi, & Jason Klink, Candace & Mitchell Beine, and Joshua & Ashley Vogt. Two great grandchildren include Shaun Beisbier and Jaydon Stephan. He is further survived by his sisters, Eleanor Ihlenfeld, Cyrilla (Bill) Thull, and Kate (Jack) Weninger. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Denis is preceded in death by his son, Nick on March 16, 2005, and brothers Clarence and Carl Vogt and sisters Helen Oelhafen and Therese Oelhafen.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Denis will be held on Monday, Jan. 7th, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church (215 Main St., Allenton) with Father Richard Stoffel officiating. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 at the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 West Paradise Dr, West Bend) and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7 at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Allenton.
In Lieu of flowers, Denis would have appreciated memorials to the Nick J. Vogt KEYS Scholarship fund.
