Joseph F. Fichtner
Joseph F. Fichtner, 78, peacefully passed from this life at Hospice of the Hills, Harrison, Ark. on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008.
He was welcomed by his Savior, Jesus, and he’s dancing on streets of gold, making beautiful music and directing a rather large choir.
He was the cherished husband of Marilyn (nee Gipson) and the late Grace (Cannizzaro), who was the mother of his children.
Survivors include his beautiful daughters, Susan (Jeffrey) Michaelson of West Bend and Gina (Robert) Schroeter of Grafton; wonderful sons, Mark (Deana), Gary (Cathy) and Dean (Donna), all of West Bend, Brian (Kathryn) of Germantown and Paul (Annie) of West Bend.
Also surviving are his very special grandchildren and great-grandkids; beloved brothers and sisters and their families; and his stepchildren and their families in Arkansas.
He also loved his spunky little dogs, Snookums and Samantha.
Joseph’s passion was his music, and he was always writing and arranging beautiful harmonies.
Even though he was separated from his children by miles, he was in contact with them often, sharing pictures and stories about his grandkids.
He will be greatly missed.
His gifts and talents live on in his children and their children. We love him.
A special memorial service was held at Lady of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Diamond City, Ark., where he served as minister of music.
A family gathering to celebrate Joseph’s life will be held in West Bend at a later date.
If so desired, monetary donations to the family are appreciated and welcome.
