Margaret S. Fahney

Margaret S. Fahney, nee Geib, of the town of Saukville, died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at the Samaritan Health Center at the age of 87.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1920 in West Bend to the late Bernard and Helen (nee Laufer) Geib.

As a young child, the family moved to Little Chicago near Athens, Wis. At the age of 14, Margaret returned to the town of Trenton area.

After her marriage to Carl Fahney on Feb. 11, 1939 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg, the couple settled on a farm in the town of Saukville, where she lived and worked the rest of her life.

Carl predeceased July 11, 1947.

On October 30, 1954, she was united in marriage to Ruben H. Fahney at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg.

She was an avid gardner and enjoyed tending to the vegetable gardens and flowers beds.

Margaret was a charter member of the Wasaukee Horsemanís Club.

Survivors include her husband, Ruben; three children, Joyce (Robert "Butch") Krueger of Saukville, Gerald (Judith) of Baraboo and Jeff of West Bend; a son-in-law, Paul Kraus of Athens; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Geib of Newburg and Anthony (Virginia) Geib of Fillmore; four sisters-in-law, Anita Geib of Fond du Lac, Marcella Tesker of Saukville, Jane Fahney of West Bend and Marty Fahney of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Kraus; three brothers, Lester, LeRoy and Robert; and two sisters, Amanda Hoffer and Marcella Rychtik.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Newburg, with Father Kevin Kowalske presiding.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church only on Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:15 p.m.
