John W. Morrell

John W. Morrell, 88, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.

He was born on June 2, 1919 in Marinette, to the late Joseph and Emelia Morrell (nee Dausey).

He was raised in Menominee, Mich. and graduated from Menominee High School in 1939.

After high school, he served in the United States Army during World War II. During the Battle of Bulge, he was awarded the Purple Heart with a Bronze Star.

Upon honorable discharge, John moved to Milwaukee where he married Norine Krueger on Oct. 8, 1949 and they started a family.

He was a floor layer and carpenter and a member of Carpen-ters Union Local 264 of Milwau-kee.

John was also a member of The Moose Lodge of West Allis, and a very active member of Pilgrim Congregational Church of Milwaukee.

He enjoyed gardening, lawn bowling, dartball and watching all sports and was a member of Lake Park Lawn Bowling Club.

John is survived by his loving wife, Norine; his children, Ray-mond (Barbara) Morrell, Cath-leen Lambries, Patricia Morrell, Christine (John) Brannigan, Maureen (Keith) Miller, and seven grandchildren.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11:30 a.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Park Family Center of Brookfield.

Visitation with family and friends will be at the Family Center on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will immediately follow the service.
