Gerald B. "Jerry" Higgins

Gerald B. "Jerry" Higgins, 80, of Slinger, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 at The Hartford Health Care Center in Hartford.

Jerry was born to Barney and Ann (nee Boehm) Higgins on Oct. 10, 1927 in Milwaukee.

Jerry worked at Insurance Services (Fire Insurance Rating Bureau) as supervisor of the mailroom.

He was a dedicated member of St. Gallís Catholic Church in Milwaukee, before moving to Slinger and joining St. Peterís Catholic Church.

Jerry enjoyed traveling to different lighthouses, hiking and was involved in politics earlier in his life; once attending President Kennedyís inauguration.

Jerry is survived by a nephew and two neices, Earl (Christine) Higgins Jr. of Pewaukee, Janie (John) Krieg of Slinger and Janis (Warren) Reynolds of Moss Bluff, La.

He is further survived by grand-nieces and grand-nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Earl J. Higgins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at St. Peterís Catholic Church, 202 E. Washington St. Slinger, with Father Richard Stoffel officiating.

Family and friends may visit at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.

A burial committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.

The Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger is assisting the family.
