Frances Catherine Agnes Bartosiak-Wajer

Frances Catherine Agnes Bartosiak-Wajer pass-ed away Sunday, July 6, 2008, around 8 a.m. in Florida, where she has resided since Christmas.

Wajer was the daughter of the late Walter and Nellie (nee Haligoski) Bartosiak.   

Wajer (nee Bartosiak) was born and raised in North Venice, Ill. She graduated with honors from Madison High School in Madison, Ill., and attended St. Louis and Washington Univer-sities in St. Louis and Marquette University in Milwaukee.

She married Ralph Joseph Wajer on Feb. 7, 1948, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Venice, Ill.

She owned and operated the Fran Wajer Realty Real Estate firm in West Bend from 1981 to present.

She had been employed at: Schultz Realty Inc., First National Bank of West Bend, Megal Devel-opment in Brookfield, Capital Lumber and Nelson Pattern in Milwaukee, General Steel Cas-tings in Granite City, Ill. and the U.S. Army base in Fort Knox, Ky.

She was past president and Realtor of the Year of the Washington (County) Board of Realtors. Also, she was a former member of PACE, Women of St. Frances Cabrini, Optimist Club of West Bend, West Bend Builders Association and Women of Wealth.

The Optimist Club recently honored Frances by naming its scholarship the Fran Wajer Honorary Scholarship.

Frances is survived by a brother- and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sandy Wajer of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Diane Heb-bes of Deer Lodge, Mont.; a sister-in-law, Betsy Bar-tosiak of Godfrey, Ill.; and a brother–in-law, Charles Williams of St. Louis.

 In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Joseph Wajer, who passed away Nov. 17, 1979; two sisters, Leona Davinroy of Venice, Ill. and Irene Williams of Granite City, Ill., and two brothers, Marion Bartosiak of Granite City and Edmund Bartosiak of Godfrey, Ill.

She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 11 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Fr. Jeff Haines presiding.

Entombment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Cabrini Education Fund.
