Alan D. Herther, 54
Alan D. Herther of West Bend passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Froedtert Memorial of Wauwatosa. He was 54.
Alan was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee to Donald Herther and the late Evelyn (nee Miske) Herther on Aug. 16, 1953.
On Nov. 25, 1978, he united in marriage to Joyce Lindner at David’s Star Church in Jackson.
Together they lived in the West Bend area, and Alan worked for Leeson Electric in Grafton for 35 years.
Alan was active in the 4-H club with his four children. He was president of St. John’s Newburg AAL branch for many years.
Alan is survived by Joyce, his wife of 29 years; four children, Brenda (Daniel) Wittrock of Germantown, Robert Herther (fiancée Katelynn) of Stevens Point, James and Matthew Herther of West Bend; his father Donald Herther of Jackson; a brother Leon (Debra) Herther of West Bend; and a sister Ruth (Anthony) Knetzger of Hubertus; other relatives an many friends.
A Christian Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at 6 p.m. at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 621 Division St. Newburg (WI 53060), with the Rev. Jon Baumann officiating.
Friends and family may visit from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 9.
Burial will follow the service at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Newburg.
