Karen Ann Danno

Karen Ann Danno of Cedarburg died of cancer at the age of 64 on Monday, June 30, 2008. A Mass of Christian burial will will be celebrated for Karen at noon on Tuesday, July 15, at St. Francis Borgia-North Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, in Cedarburg. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home in Thiensville is serving the family.

Karen Ann Webster was born on Dec. 2, 1943 in Pecos, Texas. She was the only child of Lionel and Elizabeth Webster. Karen graduated from Assumption High School where she met her future husband Patrick "Pat" Danno. After Patís graduation, they married on Sept. 24, 1966 in La Crescent, Minn. The couple spent the next four years serving in the U.S. Air Force until Patís discharge in 1971. After discharge, the Dannos settled in Cedarburg and had lived there ever since.

Karen was the mother of Patrick, born in 1968, and Kathryn Elizabeth, born in 1970. Karen spent most of her employment career with the Cedarburg School District as a teacherís aid and with the U.S. Patent Services as a customer service manager. She retired in 2003.

Karen was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan and attended nearly every game her health allowed. Karen also supported Pat in administering the Cedarburg Youth Basketball program for over 25 years.

People who knew Karen admired her positive attitude and determination as she struggled with three different types of cancer since age 37.

Karen is survived by her husband, Pat, of 41 years; and her children, Patrick and Kate.

In lieu of flowers, Karen asked that any contributions be made to the Smile Train.
