David A. De Mars, 87
David A. De Mars, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center of West Bend.
He was born on June 13, 1921, in Park Falls to the late David and Barbara (nee Kundinger).
He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, earning many awards.
He married Irene (nee Kun-dinger) in Park Falls on Aug. 7, 1943.
David enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing cards and spending time with family in northern Wisconsin.
He is survived by his children, David (Linda) De Mars of Sauk Rapids, Minn., Joan (Tim) Rohleder of Green Bay, Jean (Pete) Asp of Sullivan, Daniel De Mars of Slinger, Paul (Kim) De Mars of Slinger, Anne Gaustad of Slinger; 10 grandchildren, Mi-chael De Mars, Kristen De Mars, Susan (Mark Mullins) Rohleder, Laura (Dennis) Barnes, Karen (James) Brunk, Angela (Jim) McFaul, Lena De Mars, Elizabeth (fiancť Tim) Mayes, Keith Gaustad, and Mariah Prag; two great-grandsons, Trevor and Brandon; brother, Arthur De Mars; two sisters, Evelyn Bradle and Bernice Bergdorf. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Irene; daughter, Mary De Mars; and son-in-law, Danny Prag.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday at St. Peterís Catholic Church of Slinger (202 E Washington St., Slinger, WI 53086) with Fr. Richard Stoffel officiating.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 13th, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Sunday, at Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger (119 Kettle Moraine Dr S, Slinger, WI 53086).
Interment will be at the new St. Peterís Cemetery of Slinger.
