Leonard J. Rybarczyk, 87

Leonard J. Rybarczyk, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Samaritan Health Center of West Bend.

He was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 3, 1920, to the late Joseph and Sophie (nee Bieszk) Rybarczyk.

Leonard served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Gladys Jochem on Aug. 25, 1952. They lived on the south side of Milwaukee where he worked as an auto mechanic for 38 years.

After retirement, he moved to West Bend where he volunteered as a driver for The Red Cross. He loved watching sports.

He is survived by four children, Shirley Coomer of Waubeka, Russell (Marie) Trettin of Arbor Vitae, Keith (Collette) Rybarczyk of Caladonia, Patti (Albert) Mesa of West Bend; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy and Esther. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; special friend, Sandra Rogers; daughter, Audrey Rickert; and son-in-law, Roy Coomer.

The memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 13, at 3 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI 53095) with Fr. Jeff Haines officiating.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Sunday, also at the funeral home.
