Donald John Jackson

Donald John Jackson of Cedarburg passed to eternal life on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the age of 75. A funeral service was held on July 26 at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg. Father Tom Eichenberger of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church officiated the funeral service. Visitation was held on Saturday, prior to the service.

Donald was born on June 22, 1933 in Plymouth, son of the late Waylon and Esther (nee Mehre) Jackson. He married Marlene on May 9, 1953 in Cedarburg. A veteran who served in the U.S. Army, Donald earned two medals, a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.

Donald was a very dedicated and beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. His dedication extended out to his career of 41 years at Ted Grob, working as a machinist.

Don had many different interests - watching his grandchildren play their favorite sport, playing cards or listening to his favorite music (very loud). He enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, watching NASCAR races, water aerobics and taking his afternoon nap. Through the years he enjoyed his life to the fullest.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Marlene; his 10 children, Deb (Frank) Tarantino, Susan (John) Mescall, Lori (Richard) Schommer, Jeffery, Barb (Greg) Parchim, Jane (Tom) Barelmann, Tim, Peter (Tracey) and Jennifer Jackson; his dear brothers, Waylon (Nancy) and Gerald (Donna) Jackson; and his 12 grandchildren, David Tarantino and fiancˇe Shannon Brown, John and Timothy Mescall, Kyle Schommer, Jesse Parchim and Mikki, Jason Parchim and Emily, Tina (Chris) Lewin, Jeremiah Parchim, Dan and Megan Barelmann, and Patrick and Tricia Jackson. He is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Peyton Lewin.

Donald was preceded in death by his son David; and his sisters, Marion Pfeifer and Carol Bublitz.
