Bernice "Bernida" Holl
Bernice "Bernida" Holl, nee Jung, 86, of West Bend, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2008 at Cedar Crossings on Pleasant Valley in the town of Polk.
She was born on April 27, 1922 in the town of Richfield to the late Joseph and Clara (nee Meyer) Jung, and was united in marriage to Oscar O. Holl, her loving husband of over 62 years, on April 22, 1944 at St. Hubertís in Hubertus.
After their marriage, Bernida and Oscar owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Barton for several years before moving into the city to raise their family.
Oscar passed away on Sept. 30, 2006.
Bernida enjoyed dancing, especially to polka music.
She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading.
Bernida was a very good listener and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Donald Holl of West Bend, Jeanette Osier of West Bend, Wesley (Susan) Holl of Kewaskum and Gerald (Lynn) Holl of Kewaskum; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by two brothers, Lloyd Jung of Menomonee Falls and LaVerne Jung of Colgate; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar; a daughter-in-law, Janice; a sister, Cornelia Schmidt; and two brothers, George Jung and Joseph Jung
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernida will be held on Monday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at St. Maryís Immaculate Conception Parish, West Bend. Father Robert Bales will be the celebrant.
Visitation will be at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, on Monday from 4 until 6 p.m.
Burial will be take place in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
