Dawn M. Thiel (nee Osbourne), 66, of West Bend, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at the Hartford Care Center after a short battle with cancer.

She was born on March 4, 1942 in Milwaukee to the late Arthur "Ozzie" and Jane (nee Matthews) Osbourne.

Dawn was a member of the West Bend Senior Center, and of the Senior Center Band and Chorus. She was a member of the community theater Stage Door players, and organized the play for the West Bend centennial celebration.

Dawn enjoyed playing sheepshead and canasta, and spending time at her computer. She was active in medieval re-enactments and organized youth softball leagues along with other youth programs in the complex where she lived. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, including family gatherings and vacations.

Dawn is survived by six children, Rick (Theresa) Reuter of West Bend, Jayne (Scott) Topel of West Bend, Laurie (Darryl) Pree of Kewaskum, Michelle Thiel of West Bend, Chris Thiel of West Bend, and Melissa Thiel of Kewaskum; four grandchildren, Samantha Randall, Kayla Topel, Brittany Reuter and Brooke Reuter; two nieces, June (Kevin) Ponanski of Hartford, and April (Jamie) Theusch of Fond du Lac her former husband, Harold Thiel of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Osbourne and Larry Osbourne; and her uncle and aunt, Harold and Marie Michaels.

A family gathering for relatives and friends in remembrance of Dawn will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17 at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Memorials to the family are appreciated.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff of both St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Hartford Care Center, for their loving care extended to Dawn during her illness.
